What Causes Wrinkles?

Throughout the day, we repeatedly use facial muscles to make many different facial expressions. Over time, these expressions can eventually lead to lines, wrinkles, and even permanent creases in the face. Other important factors that contribute to wrinkles include overexposure to the sun, dehydration, smoking, and some medications. Certain inherited genetic traits can also accelerate the visible ageing process.

 

How Does Botox Work?

Botox is an injectable neuromodulator treatment made up of botulinum toxin type A. Neuromodulators work by temporarily relaxing muscles, so that wrinkles soften and lines are greatly reduced. Botox treatments target dynamic wrinkles such as frown (glabellar) lines, crow’s feet, and forehead creases, to prevent and soften wrinkles for a more youthful appearance.

 

During a Consultation we assess your unique facial structure, features and skin type to customize the dose and location each Botox treatment to provide a visible result that highlights your natural beauty and preserves a refreshed appearance, while still allowing you to convey emotion.

 

How Long Does The Effect Last?

The effects of neuromodulators can be noticed after 2 days, with maximum effect at 2 weeks. The relaxing effects of Botox typically last 3-4 months. Risks are possible, and results vary.
